Web Reference: The implicit grant is designed for public clients that run inside the resource owner’s user-agent, for example, JavaScript applications. For OIDC, this flow lets the relying party (RP) interact directly with the OpenID provider (OP), and receive tokens directly from the authorization endpoint. With the OAuth 2.0 user-agent flow, users authorize a desktop or mobile app to access data by using an external or embedded browser. Client apps running in a browser using a scripting language such as JavaScript can also use this flow. This flow uses the OAuth 2.0 implicit grant type. The client initiates the flow by directing the resource owner's user-agent to the authorization endpoint. The authorization server authenticates the resource owner (via the user-agent) and establishes whether the resource owner grants or denies the client's access request.
