Web Reference: Definition and Usage The substring() method returns a substring from the string. If the end argument is not specified then the substring will end at the end of the string. You call the Substring (Int32) method to extract a substring from a string that begins at a specified character position and ends at the end of the string. The starting character position is zero-based; in other words, the first character in the string is at index 0, not index 1. The class String includes methods for examining individual characters of the sequence, for comparing strings, for searching strings, for extracting substrings, and for creating a copy of a string with all characters translated to uppercase or to lowercase.
