Web Reference: Sep 13, 2024 · I have an ASP.NET app, and when I launch the app and try to list items from a table by accessing the corresponding route, I get this error: SqlException: Cannot open database "appointments" requested by the login. In SSMS, connect to the server, then go to the Security section, then the Logins section. Find the login in question, right-click, then choose Properties. On the General tab, you'll find a "Default database" field. It probably has the name of the dropped database. Select a database that is still valid, and use the OK button to save your change. In your Visual Studio go to "SQL Server Object Explorer". (if you don't see it go to View in the menu bar and click on SQL Server Object Explorer), you need select your database, right click and then click on Detach.
