In the original Git, files had to be added to the index before performing a Commit operation. This is not necessary in EGit, as Team => Commit allows you to commit unstaged changes. Eclipse Git Plugin EGit is a set of Eclipse plugins for working with Git repositories. It is based on the JGit library, which is a Git implementation in pure Java.
