Web Reference: This is a minimal example for how to build FastCGI apps written in C with gcc, and run those C apps with the lighttpd ("lighty") general purpose web server. This example was built with lighttpd-1.4.x (https://github.com/lighttpd/lighttpd1.4). Not all CGI backends can be used as FastCGI backends (but you can use fcgi-cgi to run CGI backends with lighttpd2). Start php for example with spawn-fcgi: spawn-fcgi -n -s /var/run/lighttpd2/php.sock -- /usr/bin/php5-cgi. module_load "mod_fastcgi"; fastcgi "unix:/var/run/lighttpd2/php.sock"; To configure Lighttpd to connect to PHP and spawn FastCGI processes, edit lighttpd.conf. Sockets are preferred to connect to FastCGI processes on the local system.
