She was predeceased by husband John Matthews '38. Mary Lou is survived by son Peter Matthews '66 and great nephew John O'Brien '76. She was a member of Delta Gamma sorority and was a part of the first group of female students to live in the newly built Stuyvesant Hall in 1935. The Family Papers, 1890-1969, consist primarily of correspondence and other papers relating to Rickey, his wife, Jane Moulton, and his six children, Sue, Mary, Alice, Jane, Branch, Jr., and Elizabeth.
