Web Reference: Kitty Linn O'Neil (March 24, 1946 – November 2, 2018) was an American stuntwoman and auto-racer, [1][2][3][4] often called "the fastest woman in the world" for her various speed records. [5][6][7][8] Her women's absolute land speed record stood until 2019. Kitty O’Neil was a champion swimmer, an award-winning diver, and a racer in motorcycle and car competitions. She thrived on speed. Her athletic ability combined with her willingness to try new challenges led to her becoming a stuntwoman in television and movies. Duffy Hambleton was an executive producer and many of the stunts were done by the real Kitty O'Neil. Kitty retired in 1986, moved from Elk River, Minnesota, USA in 1993 to Eureka, South Dakota, USA where she lives with her long time companion, Raymond Waid.
