Web Reference: Basil Wallace (born January 15, 1951) is a Jamaican-American actor, playwright, theatre director, and acting teacher. Wallace was born in Kingston and immigrated to the United States as a child with his four siblings. His family first settled in Brooklyn, New York City. He auditioned for the film Marked for Death and got the leading role. He has been working in both film and television since then. Basil has started JaCuBas Films for the development of new product. He continues to learn and grow through working with other actors as both a coach and director. He attended NYU for two years and while there he got his first off-Broadway play, The Pig Pen at the American Place Theatre. His life in the theatre had begun. For the next 20 years he worked as an actor, director and writer in the theater. With La Mama, he was director in residence for a year.
